A new mother has special nutritional needs to not only keep her baby well-fed but also to keep herself healthy and active and avoid any mental stress. Some mothers gain a lot of weight and find it mentally disturbing to not be able to manage weight once the baby is delivered. Others become physically weak due to lesser appetite caused by Nausea and morning sickness. Hence, proper guidance and planning are required to ensure good health for mothers post-pregnancy.

- Prepare a meal plan that ensures adequate macro and micronutrient intake for a healthy mother and well-nourished baby.
- Give proper education to the mothers for weight management and help them achieve it through constant support and guidance.

- Promote adequate intake in mothers who have decreased appetite as a result of symptoms such as nausea, and vomiting (i.e. morning sickness).
- Suggest healthier food substitutions to the unhealthy yet favorite foods of lactating mothers
- Help address other hormonal and women’s health concerns
