9 days of Navratris, and fasting

It is the best time to lose weight and detox your body. People in northern and western India are getting up every day for the Navratri celebration. Fasting is not only related to spirituality but also brings about a change in our diet and eating habits as there is a change in food

It is the best opportunity for you to lose weight but doesn’t let it turn on you the other way round?

Life is not about choosing right or wrong but it is a choice between choosing wrong or very wrong

Let us now look onto certain mistakes that we tend to make that results in us not losing weight but gaining some weight even though we are fasting

Do’s and Don’ts to do during Fasting

Don’ts

Should you fast or not? Generally, this happens whenever we open our fast, we just start eating anything and everything and I don’t know who wants to hear this but failing to plan is equivalent to planning to fail. So just make sure to have your food ready before you open your fast to have a proper & planned diet meal

  1. Eating everything in the name of fast. Thalis, packed chips, and laddoos. We forget to eat fruits and vegetables during fast and just get intimidated by fried chips and puris which makes us gain weight Make sure to have healthy food and take these things in moderation

  1. Having less water. The most forgotten element is water Fasting comes for detoxification and water is very important for the same. Keeping our body hydrated is the key to a healthy body
  2.  “”You know that Navratri special thali and desert are out in a restaurant! Let’s go””

Having more Navratri food outside and eating less home-cooked food is one of the main reasons for gaining weight when you fast. Self-control is important when you are on your journey to loose weight

These were some mistakes that we tend to make.

Now its tie for some tips that you can follow to lose weight during this Navratri

  1. Preperaion is important

Plan your meals, a night before just plan what you have to eat the next day.

Especially if you are fasting you’re supposed to eat kuttu ka aata, sanvak ka chawal, and many other millets which is a great indicator of loose weight. So don’t lose this opportunity to lose weight

So prepare and plan your meal and don’t fall for restaurant food

But if you have opted for milk and fruits, make sure to have something after every two hours, but avoid having fruit juice if you want to lose weight

  1. Choose right carbs

As the ideology of Navratri is based on high carbohydrate food. Though aloo(potato), Sitafal(pumpkin) is allowed it is you who have to decide what is suitable for your body

I am not anyway telling you not to take potato but take it in the boiled form or with curd

Choose green vegetables which are easily permissible

  1. Hydration is the key, we don’t forget eating food but we don’t do the same with water. When cells are dehydrated and give a wrong signal to the brain that we need food which leads to an increase in calories that we take in

3 to 4 liters of water a day is the key to be properly hydrated

  1. Have good fats

Have ghee and oil in moderation or up to 3 tablespoons at max/ Avoiding having a lot of puris and chips

  1. This is not an excuse to skip exercising, go out for a walk, and keep your body physically active. For detoxification, our body needs to fit and good diet

Make sure you have at least 30 mins workout or 10000 steps

Don’t let the joy of festivals give you a reason to you to crib about the weight you might have gained despite fasting, taking proper care of your diet and keeping your body fit should also be your priority because when we talk about festivals

“It is just the beginning”

To conclude I will just say that dont fall into the trap of excuses and make the best use of the opportunity to keep your body healthy and detoxicated by working out daily and having as much water
