To understand weight loss we need to understand weight gain and for that we need to first understand that it is the consequence of a lifestyle which was unconscious and toxic and was not even considered for a long time. Now when body image issues starts biting, one asks for a magic pill to fit into society’s defination of beauty. if it’s Acne Or facial hair, cellulose Or early ageing, we women consider these as a part of us and start to hate all these. eventually ourselves. But what if I tell you these are all are fixable and so your weight gain?
Little ignored habits like lack of hydration, lack of sleep, lack of movement and even lack of positivity in your daily life can actually make u feel that you’re God’s worst child. Now the 7 tips I am going to share are not some magic pills you’ll eat and have a ideal shape. NO. I’m here to give my people the manual for a happy , consistent and contended lifestyle. Here we go:
1. Sleep: the reboot button to our minds:
how irritating is it na when a random guy rants in your dms at 3 am: haven’t you slept beauty ? cheesy yet true! he’s actually a man of God sent for your crying hormones!
We humans have a complex mechanism and your very own sleep is master of it’s control.
When we’re in our deepest sleep our brain cells aka the neurons tends to detoxify themselves, which is why it’s said to not wake or disturb a slept person, as it breaks the mental detoxification process. Cleansed up neurons works a lot better than the neurons filled with toxins. So its must must and must to take a deep sleep of 7 to 9 hrs. in your 24 hour day. That is when you’ll rejuvunate and reset mentally and physically for a better day ahead. This rejuvunation of overall body cells would enhance the metabolic capacity and proper releasing of hormones. So next time when you start a Netflix show at 12 am with a packet of nachos, ask yourself your priorities if it’s the ideal body weight or the next season.
2. Hydration:
suppose there are 2 ponds one with a high water level and the other is quite shallow. where would the fishes prefer to live? of course in the deeper one. why? because it has a flow, a depth, a medium of movement right? these fishes in our bodies are nutrients. they can assimilate in every part of our body only when there’s good plus consistent flow of carrier fluid:blood. hydration leads to cleanliness of toxins from the blood via your urine . so the next time someone say I don’t get any glow from water, all I get is pee pee pee, tell them to shut up as their clean blood is working very well inside. Now toxins are like most of us ‘go with the flow ‘ kind of creatures. They just need flow to go, so drink 2 to 3 litres a day, Consider your bowel movements after increasing the water intake, chances of constipation almost reduces to nil. And who said all you have to gulp is plane water, I mean it is good but variety is the spice of life. how can we forget that God has given us sweetened water already in many forms. Grind a slice of watermelon, you have red water loaded with minerals, grind a pineapple, you have a tangy pulp in your glass loaded with antioxidants, grind jamun, grind plum, grind seasonal bel, oranges etc etc. some people may disagree here. I caught you, I know eating raw is the best to fully grab the nutrition and bulk of fruit. But what if I say u can have the fibre in juices too. just one small habit don’t separate the stock and bulk. mix extra water instead, make it thicker and enjoy. And of course eating them raw provides same even better hydration and mineral richness( for the less fancy loving people)
3. The underrated gaps in your meals:
I would always recommend to give least of 3 to 4 hours gap between your meals. let one meal digest, absorb, assimilate. give it time instead of gulping biscuits chips etc. Feel hungry, eat your complete meals and give yourself time to grab the advantage of it. After your dinner / nightly milk, make sure u won’t binge eat your snaks just because you feel like, no. be conscious enough and allow yourself to break and heal. the toxins, free radicals, blockages or anything, your body is the best healer, it knows how to deal with shit better than us, it just asks for free time. we keep it busy whole day in digestions and nights? who doesn’t love midnight snacks. But imagine someone tell you to work day and night on the same thing. Would you be able to do it 24/7 with wholeheartedly? No! How can our body do digestion like that? Give it time when there’s no digestion, when it can actually focus on itself as a whole, no medications, no externals can heal the extra fat, bad hormones like your body does.
4. Movements and pranayama:
Every unconsidered movement, a walk from your kitchen to bedroom, a random dance move on your favorite song, a sudden run to catch your cab, a bend under the bed to find your slipper, these are all workouts too and major ones but are these enough? would you sweat? of course not na. we need to raise the heart beat, we need to sweat and release the toxins, we need to increase the stamina, the strength, the mobility and it takes everyday I repeat everyday even when you don’t feel like doing it, those repeatetive movements build your muscles and your characters. Pranayama on the other hand is not a workout, it’s work in, work for your organs, for the brain, for the glands , for the vibrations around you. it’s the practical form of self love, when you don’t allow toxins, bad air and doubts to reside in you. Must add this beautiful way of controlling breathe and thus mind in your day, even of 10 minutes. Your pranic energy is your life, that you’re made of, that you’re living because of, that you’re growing because of. Low pranic energy leads to low immunity and creation of more toxins. If something is most important out of all the points I’m mentioning, it’s the one.
5. Eat maximum fibre :
Fibre: it’s a substance that gives bulk to your stool, which means it absorbs the toxins and slid them out with it in your stool . By the grace of God, almost all the Indian fruits and vegetables are fibre rich and full of water content in them. They’re available at cheap rates locally so we dont really consider them, but actually those are the precious stones of our country and no other imported packed food can ever beat them. Rich or poor everyone can afford a banana, peanuts, lemons, bottlegord etc etc. So make sure you’ll cook them with creative recepies to enhance the flavour of nutrients. For instance: if you don’t want to eat gheeya in curry, chop the dices and shallow fry them in a pan, pour some salt and lemon from the top, it’s a finger licking snack, you can substitute gheeya with eggplant , torayi, kamalkakdi and any possible vegetable to kill your evening cravings. For more such recepies you can take a diet plan:)
6.Vitamin & mineral requirements:
weight loss? vitamins and minerals? is there any connection? absolutely yes. These requirements are majorly ignored in our modern lifestyle. Do you know why? because packed ‘healthy’ and ready to eat foods once upon a time had those minerals but for a longer shelf life, they are mixed with huge amounts of preservatives which leads to death of living bacterias and minerals in them. So next time when you enter the store for a healthy breakfast snack, remember that you’ll miss out on major vitamins and minerals until the packet finishes. Instead of these, go to the vendors, buy fresh and seasonal fruits and nuts for a rich and actually healthy snack. Foods that are rich in nutrients were never made only for the rich. Buy simple and use your creativity in kitchen. A procastinating bum attitude cannot give you a desired diva body. Start dealing with your meals, start shopping them and adore them for their greatness, that’s how vibes will double the benifits of food.As an old phrase said: food always gives, never takes. maybe later but it will give something to your body. It’s up to us if we’ll convert it into poison or purity.
7. Minor yet major mental changes:
Let’s talk ethics. As a nutritionist I would always prefer to educate my clients to understand their body. A diet chart or few restrictions may give you temporary weight loss but what about the wellness, it surely won’t be there if the body is crying inside. Here are 3 things that you must add to your journey even it’s not for the weight loss:
(a) Sunlight:
Have you realised what would happen to the world if for a single day sun won’t rise? we’ll all die within few hours. It is the ultimate source of energy and passion in nature. Its the only natural source of maximum vitamin D, which is lacking in almost every body these days. To have sun’s qualities in you, start showing your gratitude to it, spend time with it, every ray of it have the powers of cleansing, detoxing and purifying your body and soul. After sometime you’ll realise the changes this spiritual act can bring in your life. Start doing atleast 5 rounds of suryanamaskar (sun salutation technique) in the rays of morning sun.
(b) stop going on guilt trips:
The acne, the facial hair, the cellulose, the scars, everything that is a part of you has been created by your actions. So instead of creating hate for your past actions, start recognizing your present ones to make a healthy future YOU. Having hate and toxicity will only demotivate you to drown in the ocean of guilt which is a huge setback in your journey. So start accepting those scars and rise up from the old actions , old mistakes you’ve made. Trust me that one acne or bundle of hair won’t do a shit to your personality and beauty. It’s your confidence that makes you or breaks you. Make sure you love yourself enough to not let any outside force bother you.
(c) Meditation :
Nobody including me can fully explain it to someone how right way of mediation can work for you. Weight loss is a consequence of an ideal and contended lifestyle. When you meditate , a connection between you and the divine energy generates and drops the utmost blessings in our lives. According to a research, when a monk who’s been meditating for whole life was taken to an MRI lab for brain tests, it was found that he had better quality and quality of neurons than a person who doesn’t meditates. Your behavioural changes, problem solving, sudden reactions, all of this transforms with wellness.
Before considering any of the above in your lives, make sure you accept the weaknesses and start working on them using these tools.
